Georgetown is an island community with a rich history. Many of our current families have ancestors that settled the island. And all who have arrived here since cherish what our small town offers.
Over one third of our residents are over 65 years old and our median age continues to climb. Many of these folks want to live safely in their homes for as long as they can and our Age-Friendly project is working to help them do just that.
For that to happen we need to make sure that homes are safe, there is a strong communication network, and reliable transportation to get to medical appointments, run errands, and stay connected socially.
This project will be most successful if as many town folks as possible get involved. Please contact us to see how you might be able to help.
