The Georgetown Age-Friendly Community team has prepared a short survey to follow up on the recent Comprehensive Plan survey done throughout the town. Several issues were raised on aging issues, including transportation support and help with minor home repairs, improvements and chores.
The survey is funded by a grant from AARP; no town funds will be used. The survey is short and easy to fill out. We will be forwarding a return envelope that is pre-addressed and stamped to make it easy to return. We will also have an on-line version when we get closer to November.
The survey will be completely confidential. There will be a way to indicate a desire to get more information or to get support in various areas.
Our town’s average age is rising steadily. Many of us will want to find ways to be able to stay in our community and our homes. Georgetown has a wonderful culture of neighbors helping neighbors and families taking care of their own. Our goal with the Age-Friendly program is to support those efforts and to provide additional resources to provide more town-based support with volunteer activity.
